There is no doubt that from little things, big things grow. What started with five great ideas, has created a legacy across five towns that will be a source of pride for years to come.
These Small Town Transformations projects have resulted in wonderful art, memorable events and creative spaces, but their impact extends across everything from the local economy to education and the environment. They demonstrate the powerful, transformative role that creativity can play in Victoria’s future.
More than 16,000 people participated in the projects as artists, volunteers, workers or partners. Some 19,000 people attended events and activities – of which half were locals and half came from beyond the towns.
This in itself is a telling example of the powerful role that creativity plays in bringing together people from all walks of life.
Congratulations to everyone involved. You’ve proven that when it comes to creativity, it’s community spirit – not size – that really matters.
